On Saturday night, AMP3 PR client Amanda Dolan unveiled her latest exhibit, “Precious Things,” at the Ward Nasse Gallery on Prince Street in SoHo. The show served as a follow up to “She’s a Lady,” “Call Me Crazy,” and “Heart Attack,” and was noticeably happier in theme, including a hodge podge of all of her most precious inspirations.

The mixed-media pieces of work ranged in sizes and price, all very brightly lit in shades of pinks and blues, featuring hearts, flowers, rainbows, ice cream cones, and even Amanda’s beloved French Bulldog, “Pearl.” The exhibit also introduced Amanda’s first foray into sculpture work: a mannequin up-ended and covered in mixed-media, being used as what Amanda has dubbed a “post-modern flower pot.” Perfectly matching her works of art, Amanda was clad in Betsey Johnson from head to toe, including a vintage Betsey dress, black Betsey leggings with bright pink roses, and leopard print Betsey stilettos.

Guests included: Tia Walker (Celebrity Lifestyle Blogger of The Quest for “it’), Gordon Ho (Photographer for Scallywag & Vagabond), John Simon (of JohnSimonDaily.com), Kim Weling (of New York Cool and Fashionably Petite), Martha ‘Lela’ Alburquerque (Editor-in-Chief of LelaLuxe.com), Tinka Milinovic (European Pop Star), several staffers from Betsey Johnson downtown & uptown, and Amanda’s rocker boyfriend, Jon Weber (of Rock of Ages and The Orion Experience).

Guests sipped on red and white wine and indulged in her multi-colored sugary display including mini-cupcakes, customized M&M’s and hard candy known as “bling, bling rings.”

With about half of “Precious Things” selling out on opening night, the remainder of the pieces will remain on display through October 31st, 2009. For more information on Amanda Dolan and her private commission portrait services, check out www.AmandaDolan.com.

On Saturday night, Amanda Dolan unveiled her latest exhibit, “Heart Attack,” at the Ward Nasse Gallery on Prince Street in SoHo. A huge success: the bright, extremely positive, and surprisingly affordable exhibit came as a welcome addition to the doom and gloom that has been a media focus thus far in 2009. Boasting 55 pieces in full, a third of the paintings were snatched up on opening night, with the rest still available as they display through the remainder of March.

Among the crowd were some of AMP3’s favorite party goers including, but not limited to: Tia Walker (The Quest for “it”), Kwame Jackson (The Apprentice), Jessica Caban (Actress/Model), Seth Levine (Hell’s Kitchen), Ji Cha (Hell’s Kitchen), Sylvia Heisel (Fashion Designer), Adrien Field (Garcon Magazine), Georg Szalai (The Hollywood Reporter), Troy McClain (The Apprentice), Ian Bone (Washington Style Reporter), Jon Weber (The Orion Experience), Chris Confessore (Guest of A Guest), Sabrina Chapman (Scallywag and Vagabond), Joe Ciarallo (PR Newser), Matt Caldecutt (NY Convergence), Lisa Lacy (Writer and New York’s favorite pie creator), and Andrew Graham (Copywriter for Green Target).

In true Amanda-style, hot pink cupcakes from Sugar Sweet Sunshine Bakery on Rivington Street in the LES were served along with red & white wine and sparkling water. Never a disappointment, Amanda’s outfit was equally as eye-catching as her artwork: hair by Patricia Field, outfit by Norma Kamali, and ballet flats by Marc Jacobs.

If you’re interested in an interview or a private walk-through of the exhibit, contact me. Otherwise, the full gallery of opening night photos are available here for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks to all who came out to support!

On Saturday, March 7th, an opening reception will be held for Mixed-Media Painter (and client at AMP3), the infamous Ms. Amanda Dolan, at the Ward Nasse Gallery on Prince Street in SoHo.

This year’s exhibit, “Heart Attack,” differs from last year’s portrait-style exhibit, “Call Me Crazy,” in that it is much more open to interpretation and varies in shapes, sizes, and price points. Standing 55 pieces in full—Amanda has taken her 2009 audience into consideration, and priced out her pieces starting as low as $75/each (on up to $1200), so that all exhibit-going, art-lovers can fathom taking home a piece–if they like what they see!

Finding herself in a happy place personally, emotionally, and professionally—“Heart Attack” will reflect Amanda’s bright, colorful and fun energy.

The show will hang the full month of March at the Ward Nasse. To RSVP to this event, please email us at: AmandaDolan@AMP3pr.com.

For example today, the threads flying around in the LL forum had to do with everything from small business renter’s insurance to recommendations on the best French Bistro in the EV and/or Williamsburg area. A national collective, LL has active chapters in Chicago, LA, NYC, San Fran, and Seattle and is comprised of a diverse group of female entrepreneurs.

This holiday season, Ladies Lotto is holding their 3rd Annual Benefit: a fundraiser for charity:water, with events taking place in LA and NYC and a live charity auction component online (for those who cannot be present in either city).

What separates this holiday charity from all the rest is the specific, tangible result it seeks to achieve: a clean water well for a specific small-town in Ethiopia.

“As the world focuses on the energy shortage and the global financial crisis, it is easy to forget that finding drinkable water is an everyday battle for many places throughout the world. As with so many other environmental and humanitarian crises, the problem can seem too big to tackle on its own. For this reason, Ladies Lotto has focused on a single well, a single goal, a single mission. Our goal of raising $30,000 for Charity Water will give a tangible benefit to a community in Africa.”

charity:water is a non-profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations. They give 100% of the money raised to direct project costs, funding sustainable clean water solutions in areas of greatest need.

What many don’t realize about clean water is that while it is not only a major issue for both males and females alike, it is also a growing women’s issue because of feminine hygiene concerns: the number one reason in the world pubescent girls drop out of school is due to lack of sanitation (and access to clean water can help to aid this).

This multi-city fundraiser will have major events in Los Angeles at Royal T Café (TONIGHT: December 3rd) and New York City on Monday, December 8th from 7-10pm at The Event Space. Each event will take inspiration from Ethiopian jazz and North African design and will offer an array of celebrity musicians, DJs Liza Richardson (89.9 KCRW), Lindsey (Negroclash/The Hump), Star Eyes (Trouble & Bass Crew, NYC), Valida, Ana Calderon (Dim Mak), Lady Sha (Lioness), vocalist Anne Montone and guest performers to reflect the native sounds of Ethiopia.

The online auction will begin TONIGHT through the holidays at http://www.charitywaterauction.ladieslotto.com.

Auction items will feature products donated by the following brands: pop artist Todd Goldman, United Bamboo, TOMS Shoes, Apple, Claw Money, A Peace Treaty, Dirty Librarian Chains, XBOX, 80%20, Earnest Sewn, Insight, Scosha, Electronic Arts, Powerhouse Books and a painting by my client, Amanda Dolan from her infamous “Call Me Crazy” exhibition: “Bettie Page“.

If you’d like to support the benefit for charity:water and help us to raise awareness and funds for the Ladies Lotto well in Ethiopia, you can by purchasing a ticket to either event ($50 ea.) which will feature a fun night open to all (and a full open bar) or by bidding online without even going anywhere (there are some killer boots I am ready to fight you for!). From there, you’ll be able to see this tangible dream through, as we receive progress on the development of the well in this very special town.
